It’s December again, so it’s time to break out the Christmas specials. You can see my full playlist on the homepage throughout December along with a post of Christmas music. So if you need some extra Yuletide cheer, check it out.

To begin this year’s installment I bring you 1982’s The Smurfs Christmas Special courtesy of the official Smurfs YouTube channel. When an evil man wants revenge, he enlists Gargamel’s aid in kidnapping the old man and his two grandchildren. When the Smurfs get involved, can they save Christmas for the family without revealing themselves? And how many people will Gargamel betray in his bid to destroy the Smurfs? This is the first of two Christmas specials from the original Hanna-Barbera series featuring the little blue people based on Peyo’s comics, some of which you’ll find reviews for here at the Spotlight. They would also make Christmas episodes. Further Christmas specials would be made but I don’t have access to them from legal sources. Enjoy.
