Just a reminder that Free Comic Book Day is in two weeks. Here’s a handy link to locate a participating comic store near you, and later this week I’ll go over what I’m hoping to get. and hopefully I can go myself this year.
If you ever get the chance to watch The Death Of Superman Lives, do so. Because whatever you’ve heard about Tim Burton’s attempt at Superman with Nicholas Cage, I assure you it’s much worse!
Over at the Clutter Reports I’m back to reviewing toys from the original Transformers: Robots In Disguise line. This time it’s Scourge, a Decepticon version of Optimus Prime that was only sold at Toys R Us, and that’s a shame. There’s one more leader to go before I put this box away and hopefully I’ll get to it next week.
If plans hold out (you know how that usually goes for me) I want to do something different for me. I’ve posted videos from Game Theory and Gnoggin before, but I want to try my own fictional theorizing, but it’s an odd source. For me it’s more of the same kind of thought exercise that led to me wanting to become a storyteller in the first place. I hope you’ll like it. Not much else to discuss outside of something new for Friday’s comic review. Plus the final issue of He-Man/Thundercats, so that’s important actually. Hope to give you good stuff this week.

How It Should Have Ended has come up on this site before. It uses animation and comedy to point out flaws in character actions that would have really changed the story, sometimes ending poorly for our heroes. When they do superhero movies, however, there is one added feature: the Super Café. Essentially it’s Superman, Batman, and some guest superheroes from whatever movie is being parodied pointing out more flaws while sitting in a cafe having coffee. There are also stand-alone skits in which Superman and Batman banter over coffee, and a spin-off where the villains sit in a pub drinking beer and goofing with each other as villains in a comedy do.
I love these segments, and have even homaged them in Jake & Leon, using Power Girl & Huntress and Supergirl & Nightwing in a similar setting. Recently HISHE put out a two-video compilation of their Super Café and Villain Pub skits and shorts, which is what I’m posting tonight. All of their skits, except for the latest one that came out after the compilation, as Superman and Batman discuss the Last Jedi trailer, are here for your enjoyment. As is a third video with that trailer discussion so that you’re all caught up. Because I like you people.

I know I missed the Friday Night Fights again. I had another sleepless night so this is kind of a filler post but I get to talk about something cool, which is a good trade off. Don’t forget to go vote in this week’s FNF tournament though. Now on to business!

That’s where they keep all the swords from the show.
I’ve written about Man-At-Arms: Reforged on many occasions. It’s fascinating watching how they create real-life, fully deadly versions of swords from TV, movies, and video games. Now the Staggler Brothers and the rest of Baltimore Knife & Sword are giving the TV crowd what the internet should already love, because the show is getting on the El Rey Network!

It looks like Freeform wants to get into the Marvel spinoff game as well. The former ABC Family will be host to the live-action Cloak & Dagger which will presumably also be set in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. (I think ESPN is the only holdout at this point. Or maybe Disney Junior.) ICv2 has the trailer, which makes it look like another depressing teen drama, which is Freeform’s target audience lately, and “Dagger” seems to have most of the focus. I never read the comics so maybe that fits, but from the appearances I’ve seen in the comics I’m not convinced.
