As part of an interview with Collider‘s Matt Goldberg, animated film director Brad Bird, who has worked in both hand drawn (The Iron Giant, about to get a limited re-release) and computer animation (The Incredibles, which is about to finally get a sequel) discusses how both should still be produced. He also goes into why so many studios fail to emulate Disney 2-D wise and purse 3-D animation.
Superman: The Man Of Steel #35
DC Comics (July, 1994)
“Worlds Collide” chapter 1″Afterburn” WRITER: Louise Simonson PENCILER: Jon Bogdanove INKER: Dennis Janke COLORIST: Glenn Whitmore LETTERER: Ken Lopez ASSISTANT EDITOR: Chris Duffy ASSOCIATE EDITOR: Frank Pittarese EDITOR: Mike CarlinThe odds of a straight marriage in comics, much less any marriage lasting, is low. Tony and MJ hooking up? I think we all know that’s going to happen. Supposedly she doesn’t marry Peter in this time timeline because he can’t commit to marriage and children due to his duties as Spider-Man. Tony would be even worse, because it isn’t just Iron Man and his current search for his real parentage (speaking of dumb ideas), but the fact that Tony himself isn’t the marrying type. And we know how much Bendis likes to keep to proper character personalities. Yeah, Tony & Mary Jane are totally going to hook up eventually.
One interesting thing this week is that I’ll be looking at two arcs called “Worlds Collide” The DC/Milestone crossover should be entering the reviews on Monday while the final chapter of the Transformers Armada event of the same name will be ending on Thursday. I also have another Star Wars comic this week and it features one of my favorite comic book fights, Darth Vader versus Darth Maul. Otherwise, nothing big on the BW front this week unless I can get some video editing done this week.

Longtime readers of this website should already be familiar with Runners. I’ve discussed the webcomic and reviewed the issues of the first story arc, “Bad Goods”. “The Big Snow Job” is the second chapter in Wang’s series, focusing on a group of smugglers in space who are once again in over their heads. It’s my favorite webcomic and Wang is anxious to get back to the series, but it’s the paid projects that pay the bills.
During Secret Wars II we saw a glimpse of Malice, the result of the Hate Monger messing with Sue Richards’ mind, who dressed in fetishwear and uses her force field in more deadly ways. Now we’re at the “Infinity War”, and it’s going to bring Sue face to face with her evil self…and her horrible fashion sense. I still think this story was an excuse to get Sue in a bikini top.

Ever wonder how Liam Neeson’s character in Taken can kick every butt he threatens to? NBC is planning to answer that question. Spinoff Online reporter Kevin Mahadeo reports that a prequel series focusing on Bryan Mills’ CIA days has been greenlit, with some modifications.
