The Official He-Man YouTube Channel, run by current rights holder DreamWorks, usually features trivia, jokes, and a few classic episodes. (The whole series is up for free on Hulu.) However, a trailer came out on Tuesday that shows one more addition: a full episode?
Making a cartoon Filmation-style isn’t new. You may remember that Starship Farragut, a Star Trek fan series, made a couple of episodes in the Filmation style, even getting help from the now late Lou Scheimer as well as the late-then James Doohan’s son Chris to play his father’s role as a cameo. How well this special will do has yet to be determined. James Eatock is the host and writer for the aforementioned trivia and jokes for the channel and grew up with the show in the UK. It’s a teaser after all, but I do like the possibilities. And Faker actually looks like the toy instead of just looking like He-Man as he did in the episode “The Shaping Staff”, but he still has the glowing eyes. I’ll report back when there is more to report.
That is a nice teaser! Filmation animation style is awesome.
