BW’s Morning Article Link: Da’ Bee Gets Da’ Movie

It looks like Hasbro wants to follow Star Wars’ example as well as the Marvel Cinematic Universe. They’re giving Bumblebee his own movie. It’s the Bayformer version and I can only hope he gets his voice back (they took it away in the sequel with no explaination because Michael Bay liked the radio gimmick–IDW had to cover his butt and it was just “he lost it again”). Bay will only co-produce, like he did for the Ninja Turtle movies, but those weren’t very good either. The link does mention the director.

Chapter By Chapter> 1st Phase Shifters & The Omega Capsule ch.4

Chapter by Chapter features me reading one chapter of the selected book at the time and reviewing it as if I were reviewing an episode of a TV show or an issue of a comic. There will be spoilers if you haven’t read to the point I have, and if you’ve read further I ask that you don’t spoil anything further into the book. Think of it as read-along book club.

What these chapters lack in size they make up for in a sort of personal thought exercise. For those new or newer to the party, commercials to me was a chance to think about the story and come up with my own scenarios as to how the heroes would get out of a certain situation or how things could progress. Then I could see if I was right. The chapter breaks in this book are acting the same way. I read before writing the intro again to see if I had to discuss more than one chapter, but I find that I don’t want to know because I really want to see how well I can guess things. It could just be how my mind works.

Last time we met our supporting cast, a guy named Paul who works at the bakery Crede likes and a woman named Susan that Crede works with and uses his powers to secretly cover for her bad cooking. Maybe you should find someone who can show her how to cook? This chapter will introduce one more name to the list, and I have some thoughts about him.

BW’s Morning Article Link: The Continued Star Wars CG Debate

Star Wars sad Ahsoka

I don’t mean the cartoons, although there was some debate early on. I’m talking about the use, or possible OVERuse of computer generated images and greenscreen in the modern Star Wars movies at least as far back as the Special Editions. When is too much, when is too little, and is it okay to recreate actors for roles they can no longer play? James Harrington, novelist and blogger, goes into his opinions of CGI in that galaxy far, far away.

(Also, I thought this posted back in January but apparently I goofed somewhere.)

Jake & Leon #309: Mythbusting Never Dies

Maybe the finale of their first season as Mythbusters?

Maybe the finale of their first season as Mythbusters?

Remember when I suggested that two strips ago? I finally got to see the finale this week and I’m satisfied with the results. Had they kept Tamera, Martin, and Allen on as well it would have been really cool. They could mix and match teams depending on the myth, and all five worked really well together. But for whatever reason they only wanted two and I think Brian and Jon will do just fine. They join the ranks of Adam, Jamie, Tori, Kari, Grant, Jessie, and Scottie. (Anyone remember those last two? Scottie–which I could be spelling wrong, was on the build team before they became official, and when she left Grant took her spot. Jessie substituted for a few episodes when Kari was on maternity leave.)

Over at The Clutter Reports I wanted to introduce you to my Mini-Cons, since they’ll be popping up again in Transformer toy reviews. I’m doing Transformers-related reviews all this month since I need to focus on some life events at least for the next couple of weeks, so I might as well keep the theme going.

The Saturday comic review returns to my comiXology library. That’s all I really have to report. No series changes or anything that I can think of. I am going to get at least one ConnectiCon 2016 panel done this month. I’m also going to restructure the Patreon in case anyone wants to check it out. Hope to do that this week or next. Hmmm. That’s it for updates. Yeah. Um…so….how’s everything with you?
