Although still very low on power the Voltron Force has no choice but to tackle the RoBeasts. They are no match for three of the biomechanical monsters even at full strength, until the arrival of the other Voltron, now ordered to help the Lion Force. However, Lion Voltron recharges by stealing the energy from Vehicle Voltron on its own, surprising Keith and annoying Jeff, who later blames Keith. When the Voltrons finally join forces the RoBeasts are all destroyed. Except for Keith and Jeff, the two teams get along as the Explorer catches up with them. The traitor is “rescued” by Zarkon so he can be…properly terminated. Back on Arus Sven finally gives in to the voices in his dreams…which belong to Hagar and Merla!

What they got right: We get to see the Voltrons finally team up, making this story better than Fleet Of Doom because at least the focus on Lion Voltron makes sense. And I like seeing both Voltrons join forces. An understandable change is having the Vehicle team call out thinks like “Weapons protocol alpha” instead of “form Blazing Sword”, or the protocol for the other weapons but the nostalgic in me misses the latter. We also have a good setup for the next story arc.

What they got wrong: Well, Lion Voltron is a jerk. Vehicle Voltron comes to help and he nearly kills them. I supposed it could be explained away by him being mad at a knockoff of himself created by basically torturing the Lions for their secrets but at the same time Jeff at least has a right to be upset, even if he’s mad at the wrong guy.

Recommendation: If I haven’t proven yet that you should be reading this series, check out this week’s Saturday Night Showcase. If that doesn’t convince you alongside these reviews nothing will.

Now you have me very curious for the Saturday night showcase. The cover on this issue is amazing, and the story even more incredible. It is spectacular to see two Voltrons working together.
