Transformers: Generation One and Armada Preview

Dreamwave (April, 2002)

While The War Within had its own preview, Generation One and Armada had to share one. That doesn’t seem fair. Sure, both stories had the same writer and the other was by Simon Furman (whom you may recall didn’t write the first Armada arc, but Armada is a separate continuity while War Within is the early days of the Generation One continuity.

BW TV Review: Adam Ruins Everything

TruTV is really looking hard at YouTube for show ideas. For example, the Fine Brothers (of the popular “React” series of web shows in which people of different age groups react to various media past and present) recently got a show called Six Degrees Of Everything, where they connect one thing to another in six steps or less, similar to the “Six Degrees Of Kevin Bacon” game. Another show, which I just got to see thanks to Entertainment Weekly‘s Screening Room page on Facebook, is Adam Ruins Everything, another show taken from the internet and using humor to impart information, using humor to keep you awake. So was it any good?

Morning Article Link: DC Remembers Girls Exist

With DC’s recent negative press when it comes to little girls (and adult women but even DC has limits of not realizing their idiots) they finally took action. Oh, not by making their regular stuff more inclusive to women, that would be silly, and kids of any gender probably shouldn’t read a modern Superman or Captain Marvel Shazam comic. No, girls get DC Super Hero Girls, where DC’s heroines (and some male heroes) get reimagined as high schoolers. Seen before? Probably. But Comics Alliance takes a look at this new toyline that remembers little girls like superheroes, too.

BW Filler Video: Wait, THAT Was CGI?

Tron original movie #2

Practical effects versus CGI is still a debate going on. Sometimes, however, computer graphics are exactly what you need to make a scene work. Cracked’s YouTube videos recently brought up six scenes in movie and television that were all computer generated images…whether they needed to be or not. WARNING: While for some reason the “S” Bomb is not censored the F-Bomb is. When did the former become okay and the latter not even though television and radio still censors both? I blame that one South Park episode.
