Of course the week I’m putting the Morning Article Link on hiatus one of the most interesting bits of overthinking I’ve seen comes to my attention. Isn’t that just like life? But yes, the website Tickld found a posting on Reddit (I’m using this version because the examples are right there, and they do link to the original Reddit posting if you prefer) by Lampawaroo in which he (or she, it’s the internet) may be able to prove that Jar Jar Binks is not only faking his screwup persona, but may in fact be the true villain of the Star Wars prequels. Give it a read and you may never see Jar Jar the same way again.

Oh, please, I can ramble like a loon with the best of them!
Jake said everything about the challenge so there isn’t much for me to say. The first installment appears below the usual update ramblings. Each new installment will show up in place of the Morning Article Link throughout November or as long as I can commit to it, whichever ends first. That means that articles I really want to show you will be posted in the regular article section, which should give me time to work on this. Patreon supporters at the article level will get to see these mini-podcasts early so they don’t feel jipped on days I need for the article link, and a bonus when I get to do the usual longform review and commentaries. Plus there are some related article series I plan to debut and the aforementioned patrons know what they are. I did it on YouTube even though the challenge calls for audio because I’m not going to start a new account for something I probably won’t use past this challenge. Hopefully that’s not a full violation of the rules.
Quick notes. The Clutter Report this week has me clearing up some floor space. There are no abrupt schedule changes THIS week, but Assignment: Earth is coming to an end this week and I’m out of issues of Meteor Man since I only have the first three of the six issues. So I have new series incoming. And with that, the first Art Soundoff from BW.
Chapter by Chapter features me reading one chapter of the selected book at the time and reviewing it as if I were reviewing an episode of a TV show or an issue of a comic. There will be spoilers if you haven’t read to the point I have, and if you’ve read further I ask that you don’t spoil anything further into the book. Think of it as read-along book club.
The first chapter gave us a proper introduction to our special guest-villain for this story, Prince Xizor of Black Sun, and his human replica assassin droid, Guri, and some new recruits, as well as seeing what Leia was doing (precious little) and what Luke was doing (training mostly) and setting up that they’re on Tatooine to get ready for Return Of The Jedi. Let’s see if we have more setup or if things are starting to happen yet.
I’ve never really been into Halloween. Sure, I dressed up in costumes to get free candy because who wouldn’t? I mean that I didn’t do the spooky costumes; no monsters, no ghosts, none of the scary stuff. I was superheroes, a Stormtrooper, an old style telephone, a cuckoo clock–those last two were my dad’s idea and they totally worked…as costumes anyway. You can’t make a phone call with cardboard. There are only two kinds of monsters I like, the cute and cuddly fun kind and the giant city-destroying kind. No middle of the road for me.
Since my video plans fell through this week I bring you the kind of monsters I pay attention to on Halloween with Godzilla Versus Gigan. Gigan is one of those monsters that never gets enough love. I don’t even think he’s in MY top ten kaiju. They even had to team him with other monsters, I don’t think he’s ever fought alone. But come one, he’s a cyclops with blades for hands and a buzzsaw in his belly. What’s not to like? Here he teams with Ghidorah to fight the Big G and Anguirus to stop the dangers of…a theme park?
