Everybody has a theory as to what is killing comics. I’ve tried to maintain that it isn’t one thing, but a whole host of mistakes the comic industry and their creators have made over the years ruining the medium. Author and editor Brian Neimeier shows the progressive decline of Marvel’s storytelling and puts the blame on yet another culprit: comic publishers being more interested in the brand than the stories.

Amy, you almost left him standing at the alter to fool around with the Doctor. He waited thousands of years while you healed in a huge box. YOU LOSE ANY RIGHT TO BE JEALOUS EVER!
Yeah, I know it’s not FLCL but I needed something to open with that’s actually in my media library, and their relationship is almost as crazy.
Anyway, FLCL, pronounced “fooly cooly” is the story of a Japanese boy in a small town dealing with his crazy dad and grandpa while missing his brother and dealing with his brother’s girlfriend. And there’s a giant iron outside of town for some reason. Then Haruka shows up and everything goes to bat guano in hyperspeed. The show is insane in all the best ways and I highly recommend it. Adult Swim still has it and the two sequels I need to catch up on their website, six half-hour episodes per series. Also tonight’s video contains spoilers for the show so go watch that first if you wish. Also this video has a few panty shots.
In a series of videos I’ve posted from the Cartoon Cypher we looked at dubbing Cowboy Bebop, the first in a series of their videos on the topic of anime dubbing I want to show you guys, and last week it was about the English comedic dub of Ghost Stories. Tonight we have one of their follow-ups, examining the work that went into dubbing this insanity and getting help from the creator himself. And given how much was put into this show’s dub you have to admire the work.

When Marvel Studios first started putting out their movies through Paramount (before Disney bought Marvel Entertainment) Kevin Feige really wanted to have access to all the Marvel heroes, even the ones already licenced by Fox and Sony. In a recently revealed deleted scene apparently Nick Fury was supposed to reference both when he introduces himself to Tony Stark in the post-credits scene of Iron Man. I don’t think that’s going to help them sneak mutants into the Marvel Cinematic Universe at this stage.

Remember, the book is in public domain. Download or read the ebook online legally and for free at Project Gutenberg, Google Books or the Internet Archive among other sites, or check out the audiobook from LibriVox. You can also use a print copy. In either case my copy may not match up with yours chapter-wise. Follow along with the very-long subtitle. For this chapter:
Recounting Three Merry Adventures That Befell Robin Hood and Certain Others, by Which He Gained Sore Bones and Three Good Merry Men All In One Day
It’s time for the last of our second trio of stories. Thus far in this set we’ve seen the recruiting of Arthur A Bland and Will Scarlett, the latter responsible for the sore bones of Robin while the former gave a good beating to Little John. Now everyone decided to forget about having new clothes and run off into the forest. I swear there’s a slashfic in there somewhere but…who am I kidding, I’m sure it already exists. I tend to avoid such things but I know the internet. Anyway, in this story we have one more recruit to gain. Will anyone else get a-whoppin’ before we’re done?
I thought Midge was a girl’s name? Then again I only saw it in that one Nightwing story and I think a recurring Archie character so what do I know?
